Wildfire 2008

Artists in the Clay Guild of the Cascades (CGC) share a passion about clay with each other and the community. Member meetings, educational workshops, cooperative purchases of supplies, exhibitions, and participation in charitable projects such as Empty Bowls, supports our aim to promote creative self-expression in clay, share knowledge and experience, and facilitate an appreciation of handmade pottery and ceramics.

Clay Guild of the Cascades meets bimonthly the second Monday of alternate months. (January, March, May, July, September, November). Thank all of you for getting your 2008 memberships to us. It really helps those making plans for the up coming year to know who is interested and where we can grow. If you know anyone who might be interested in joining our guild and hasn't yet because of lack of information, shyness, whatever, have them come to our next meeting. To those who didn't start with us or for those who have forgotten CGC's mission statement, here it is;

"Artists in the Clay Guild of the Cascades (CGC) share a passion about clay with each other and the community. Member meetings, educational workshops, cooperative purchases of supplies, exhibitions, and participation in charitable projects such as Empty Bowls, supports our aim to promote creative self-expression in clay, share knowledge and experience, and facilitate an appreciation of handmade pottery and ceramics."

We will forgo our next general meeting in November since we will all be exhausted from a busy, productive and profitable Wildfire Show. There is a preliminary discussion about having a potluck post-show meeting in late November or early December. We will kick off the new year at our January meeting on the 12th, 6:30pm at the Art Station in the Pottery Room. Business part of the meeting is about 45 minutes long. Then onto what we really have the meeting for; the social/educational/fun stuff!!!! Steve Provence will show us his work and talk about his evolution as a full-time potter and making a living on the art show circut since we ran out of time for him at the September meeting. Bring pot-luck or something to munch on. Join us for a mini workshop!!!!! Free to members and prospective members!!!

Our new meeting location is The Art Station which has graciously allowed us to meet in their pottery classroom. The Art Station is located at 313 SW Shevlin Hixon Dr. on the west side of the river across from the Old Mill Shops.

The next Wildfire Meeting:

Hello Wildfire committee heads and anyone else who wants to be part of the planning.
There will be a Wildfire meeting October 13th at 6:30 at the Art Station.

Committee Heads: Please have a report on your committee's progress and any questions you might have. If you can't come to the meeting, please make a report to Steve or Linda so they can have that information at the meeting.

We are always looking for ways to improve Wildfire. If you have had an light bulbs go off and want to share them, please come to the meeting! Email Steve Provence or Linda Heisserman to get more information
